You are certainly going to have some fun in Charleston SC. You might even be planning a subsequent vacation on the way out of the city. While you won’t get to everything you want to do all at once, you sure are going to have a blast. The city of Charleston SC is full of southern charm, and it is home to the following four top places of interest and so much more.
Riley Waterfront Park is one of the places to visit, and it is located at 1 Vendue Range on Concord Street. Cruise ships come in right there according to reviews, and there is a famous Pineapple Fountain that you will want to find. The park is kept really nice, and people say that it is a great place to walk and check out the beautiful scenery and great views. Have a great time exploring Riley Waterfront Park.
The next top attraction is Middleton Place, located at 4300 Ashley River Road. Tour the main house and the gorgeous grounds, and you can even go for a carriage ride. There is a great restaurant there, too, and you are going to enjoy the history lesson. You don’t have to opt for the guided tour or the carriage ride, but they are recommended so that you get the full experience.
The Nathaniel Russell House is also a historical place of interest. This house is located at 51 Meeting Street, and this three story home features an amazing floating staircase and so much more. While there are several house museums in the city of Charleston SC, this one is said by some to be the best. Some people visit Charleston and see all of the historical houses. Perhaps you don’t have time for all of them, but maybe you can stop by The Nathaniel Russell House.
You absolutely have to stop by Charleston City Market. Located at 188 Meeting Street, Charleston City Market features all kinds of vendors. Have you seen the sweet grass baskets? There are many handmade items sold at Charleston City Market, and it is a great place to explore for sure. Continue from Meeting Street all the way to East Bay Street to get the complete experience.
If I were you, I would start with the Charleston City Market. It is a fun place to explore and get to know Charleston and meet locals while picking up souvenirs. Then you can branch out to the rest of the city, visit some other places of interest and enjoy some delicious meals, too.
